One Sunday arvo, after church, the Boy was unusually hungry (he's a dinner person)... and wanted to eat something fast... I suggested Tomodachi, as it was near our parked car and we had to use up the coupon from the Entertainment Book anyway (IT'S SO WORTH IT!, the book I mean)...

For some reason, we've only been there once and never returned... and it wasn't because the food wasn't up to par...
It's mostly that it's a tad out of the way (3rd level Melbourne Central), and if you are already in the city, there's so many other choices to go to...

So I happily walked in, as I remembered the food was good here...

When we arrived, there weren't really full (it was still quite early)

However, they did have extremely slow service (I counted 4 wait staff, 1 bartender, 2 sushi chef and 1 cashier)... further on through the meal, the Boy pointed out that 2 chefs from the kitchen had come out into the restaurant to help serve the "crowd"...

This place does have an extensive menu comprising of all things Japanese...

For a better view, visit their menu by following the link.

We started off by ordering some Gen Maicha a Japanese Green Tea with roasted rice (their drinks/tea menu has hilarious descriptions and stories relating to the origins... which I can't seem to find on the Internets... soooooo... go visit and read it for yourself *wink*)

We also greedily ordered some Edamame $4.80 (in hindsight now, there was wayyyyy too much food!)

The boy was hungry and ordered the Chicken Katsu Don Bento Box $23.80
Their bento boxes comes with dumplings, renkon chips, sushi, salad, desserts, miso soup and steamed rice

I was boring and stuck with a Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box $23.80

*Disclaimer: All food ratings are purely based on my own experiences and how I feel about the service, food and quality
Food/ Cuisine: Japanese (Sushi Train/ Modern Izakaya)
Overall Food Rating: 7.5/10
Restaurant ambiance: 7/10
Service/ Attitude: 7/10 (a tad slow and unattentive to customers waving their hands in the air for assistance)
Value for money: 6/10 (It was a tad expensive... I'm used to paying $9.80-$15 for a bento during lunch hours around the cbd... HOWEVER, that being said... it was an extremely generous portion of bento which included all things good)
