As promised... the Boy did make pizza from scratch for our Anniversary dinner =)
I helped with the pizza base!!!
For ingredient measurement of the pizza base, go to Masterchef's pizza recipe
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Celsius
The combined yeast, salt, sugar, water and oil (set aside for 10 minutes until it starts to bubble)
Flour
Combine them in a bowl and bring together with hands (the Boy's large hands)
Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a bowl, cover and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in size
While the dough is resting, heat up a can of chopped tomatoes in a pan. Add mix herbs (oregano, thyme, rosemary, marjoram) salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes until sauce thickens.
Let the sauce cool. You can blend it to make a smoother consistency (a step which we didn't bother with)
Knock the dough down. Using 180g (about one-quarter) dough for 1 pizza, knead on a floured surface until smooth. Roll out until 5mm thick (or however thin you like your pizza base to be... We like Thin and Crispy)
Transfer the base onto a baking dish (sprinkled with flour) and poke holes all around the surface with a fork
Spoon the tomato paste onto the base and layer with fresh ingredients.
Make sure you put the cheese right at the base and the other ingredients on top of it (to prevent burning)
We used, chicken, bacon pieces, mushrooms, chorizo and mozzarella cheese
After about 20-30 minutes, it's done!!
1st pizza
2nd pizza
We still have some sauce and a lot of dough leftover... So I guess it's more pizza for today!!
Nothing beats fresh pizza!
